How to Enroll

Before the start of each new school year, families are required to complete a Returning Student Registration. This process ensures we have up-to-date student information and collect annual forms. It replaces the beginning-of-the-year forms families have traditionally completed. This simple process takes approximately 5 minutes per child and helps us prepare to support your student in the upcoming school year.

How to Complete Your Annual Returning Student Registration:

Please log in to your Skyward Family Access Account and click on 'Returning Student Registration'. You can reach out to your child's school if you do not know your Family Access login. 

You will be asked to verify student information and fill out the following required forms before the next school year:

• Transportation

• IDOE Work Survey

• McKinney Vento Questionnaire

• CHIRP

Important: Your timely submission is greatly appreciated and helps our office staff to provide the best possible experience for your child. 

We are excited to welcome new students and families! We're here to assist you through our enrollment process to ensure a smooth transition so your child can experience our outstanding academics and support right away.

You will need to enroll your child as a new student if:

• Your child has never been enrolled in our District
• Your child is transferring from another school

Important Note: If your child attended a Wayne Township school in the past but left and is now returning, they are considered a new student for enrollment purposes and must complete the full enrollment process.

Before you begin your enrollment, there are several documents you will need to have ready.

• Birth Certificate (bears an official embossed seal of imprint) 
  • A hospital certificate is not acceptable.
  • If you do not have a birth certificate and your child was born in Marion County, please visit the Marion County Health Department Vital Records or call 317-221-2397 for information on how to obtain a duplicate birth certificate.
  • If your child was born in Indiana (outside of Marion County), please visit Indiana State Department of Health Vital Records or call 317-233-2700 for information on how to obtain a duplicate birth certificate. 
• Immunization Records
  • Indiana law requires all school-age students to present proof of required immunizations. Learn more here.
  • Immunization records may be obtained from your child's healthcare provider, the clinic or pharmacy where the immunizations were administered, or MyVaxIndiana.
  • For information on free or low-cost immunization options, visit Marion County Health Department Immunization Program or Indiana Immunization Coalition. 
• ID of Parent or Guardian 
  • Driver's License or valid state or government issued ID
• Proof of Residency (2 documents required)
  • A current gas or electric bill or any other bill related to your residence AND
  • If you own your home, the second document may be one of the following: 
    • Closing documents
    • Warranty deed
    • Current monthly mortgage payment statement (not coupon book)
    • Quit Claim Deed
    • Current year tax bill
    • Homestead Property Claim 
    • Lease to Buy contract or purchase agreement
  • If you rent, a current lease is required.
  • Proof of residency procedures do not apply to students who are experiencing homelessness. For more information about your rights under the McKinney-Vento Act, please click here.

New to Wayne Township Schools? If you've never had a child enrolled in our district before, you must create an enrollment account before you can submit your enrollment application. Follow the steps below.

• Click the "Request Enrollment Account" button below.
• Fill out the required information. 
• Submit your request.
• Check your email for for account activaction and login information. 
• Use the login information from your email to access the enrollment system so you can complete your child's online enrollment application (Step 4).
• Important: Without completing this account request (Step 3), you will not be able to submit an enrollment application for your child.

REQUEST ENROLLMENT ACCOUNT

If you currently have a child who attends Wayne Township schools and you wish to enroll another child OR you have a child who attended a Wayne Township school in the past and you wish to return after leaving the district, follow the steps below.

• If you've previously had a child enrolled in Wayne Township schools, you can log in with your existing account. Click the "Log in to Skyward" button below and enter your existing Skyward username and password
• Select "New Student Enrollment" from your dashboard

• If you forget your Skyward Family Access login credentials, click to request a new password. If you are still unable to log in, please contact for your child's school for assistance. 

LOG IN TO SKYWARD

• Once you are logged in to your Skyward Family Access Account
  • Please take care to choose the correct school year for which you are enrolling. 
  • Complete each step of the online enrollment form.
• Upload Required Documents.
  • These documents can be a PDF, scan, or a clear photo of document taken on your phone. 
  • If you are unable to upload the documents, proceed to complete all required forms.
• Complete all required forms.
  • Migrant Worker Survey
  • CHIRP
  • McKinney-Vento Questionnaire 
  • Transportation for Elementary
  • Home Language Survey (if your family is new to the state of Indiana).

You're almost there! Before finalizing your child's enrollment:

• Review All Information. Carefully check all details for accuracy, including contact information, emergency contacts, and health information.
• Submit Your Application. Click the "Submit" button to send your enrollment form for processing.
• Enrolling Multiple Children? After submitting, click "Enroll Additional Students" to complete forms for siblings.

Important Document Information

• If you were unable to upload required documents during the online process, please bring them to our Enrollment Center as soon as possible, located 700 N. High School Road, Indianapolis (in the same building as the Wayne Township Fire Department Headquarters),   Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• For families with children at multiple schools, you may take all documents to the school of your oldest child
• Remember: Your child's enrollment is not complete until all required documents have been received

What Happens After You Submit

After submitting your Online Enrollment Form, our team will:

• Review all information and documentation
• Contact you if anything additional is needed
• Process your child's enrollment
• Send you a confirmation notification with next steps

Important Timelines

Once the school has processed your application, families will be notified of their child's enrollment status and provided with next steps within 2 working days. If you are enrolling during the summer or for next school year, details such as teacher assignments, class schedules, bus routes, and more, will generally be available the week before the school year begins. For students in upper grades, there will be an opportunity to meet with a counselor to discuss classes and scheduling.

Now that you've determined your child's school and gathered the necessary documentation, it's time to complete the enrollment process at our Centralized Enrollment Center.

What to Expect

Our enrollment specialists will guide you through completing all required forms and will verify your documentation. The process typically takes 30-45 minutes per child when all required documents are present.
